Writing Your Own Torah: Creative Expression as a Source for Personal Discovery - Torah Through Arts

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This last commandment in the Torah, (Deut. 31:19) tells us to each write our own Torah, to teach it, and bring it to the mouths of others. Art is a powerful tool to bring our unique selves into the text and to engage our students. Writing our own Torah empowers us and our students to find our voices and deepen our understanding and connection. Andrea will share from her new Torah song cycle “She Flows From Eden," and share her writing process. Then, after small group text study, participants will be guided to tap into their artistic expression, discovering and sharing new insights gained through individual writing. "Torah Through Arts" includes this session and Hillel Smith’s Parsha Posters session, both of which explore art making as a tool for deeper Torah study. Attendance at both is encouraged, but not required.
