Telling Their Story

In this session, I will share strategies learned at the 2022 Yad Vashem Supplemental School Seminar, to support educators in teaching the Holocaust to younger students in ways both accessible emotionally, and educationally. These methods provide tools and the training needed to develop the skills to create content for Shoah studies that can be used in a variety of settings and time constraints. We are obliged to tell the stories of the survivors in their voices even when they have left us. Starting with one family's story, participants will learn how using first person narrative, family pictures, and personal artifacts can amplify their voices so that their experiences are not forgotten.
