Jewish Humor and Storytelling…From the Ridiculous to the Sublime: How Humor Saves Us And Sustains Us.

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

There is much data on humor being one of the best tools a teacher has to convey a lesson and make a lasting impression. Together with humor, great storytelling is what makes a good teacher a superlative teacher. From Jewish jokes (which are very, very short stories) to the “Wise Men Of Chelm” and beyond, we’ll explore how to use humorous stories to teach our students, from middle school to high school, about our culture, and the joy of being Jewish. We’ll tell you some stories, and hopefully, you’ll laugh. You’ll learn some techniques to tell us a joke or two, and make us laugh.
