Responding to the diverse needs of children and teens in formal and informal settings, takes a careful intake process and ongoing contact that engages with families and dials down parental fear. It’s thoughtful detective work to understand the situation from both angles - the family’s and yours. We’ll talk about getting parents on board as support partners by listening to their wishes and concerns. We’ll discuss practical ideas for asking the ‘right questions,’ as well as how to read between the lines of intake information in order to find out what you need to know for building relationships that will mean successful inclusion.
