Ivrit Through Your Feet: Teaching Hebrew Through Israeli Dance

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This session is intended for teachers looking to add Hebrew through dance to their toolbox. We will learn authentic Israeli dances and songs that include Hebrew words that can add to your students’ vocabulary and connect to the Jewish holidays. Dancing with your students is a great way to incorporate movement into your classroom and strengthen your Hebrew curriculum as well! Israeli dance inculcates ahavat Yisrael (a love of Israel) in students, provides a window into Israeli culture, and connects them to the Hebrew language in a fun way. You will walk away with music, steps, and vocabulary, as well as ideas for how you can incorporate Israeli dance into your classroom. No prior dance experience is necessary!
